  • Headteacher Newsletter and Updates for Spring 2:

    We have made a wonderfully positive start to the second half of the Spring Term.  I hope you enjoy the newsletter attached.


  • On Tuesday, some Y3/4 children visited St Peter’s C of E School as part of AIM High Maths led by Andrew Jeffery. They enjoyed playing different Maths games, puzzles and magic tricks with children from other schools. They had a fantastic day and were eager to share what they learned with their friends back at school!




  • Royal College of Music Funded Musical Opportunity:

    Dear Families,

     

    The Royal College of Music are offering some fully funded music making opportunities for children and families.  All the information needed is in the flyer attached; please do have a look and apply if this is of interest.


  • We had a very impressive win in our football match against a neighbouring school this afternoon. It also marked the first outing in our new sports kits which were very generously funded by the wonderful Friends of the William Hogarth School!

  • Celebrating Children's Mental Health Week in Year 5. We've enjoyed games, created acrostic poems and some beautiful artwork to celebrate this years Children's Mental Health Week.









  • On Thursday afternoons, we have been learning about Ordnance Survey maps. Today, we focused on understanding maps symbols using a key. We challenged ourselves to locate a range of different symbols on a map and identify their meanings by referring to the key.




  • Dear Parents and Carers, Many of you will be aware that there is an ongoing issue with Thames Water supply.  We have received a recent update from them to say that supply should be restored within 24 hours.  However, at present, we have no choice but to close school today as there is no water available to flush toilets, wash hands or prepare food. If you wish, please use the half-termly curriculum project to support learning at home, as well as accessing the learning on the Century platform. We are expecting to open as usual tomorrow and will keep you informed of any updates or changes as the information becomes available. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for your understanding. Kind regards Miss Stockley
  • Task Master Challenge today for our House Teams: to build the tallest structure with limited resources using DT skills (KS2); design a room in your tower that you would like to live in (KS1). 





  • Children enjoyed getting to grips with the new Ordnance Survey maps purchased by school to improve their Geography skills: using four and six-figure grid references, symbols and key to build their knowledge of the United Kingdom.
